6 Things We Love about Taylor Brown’s New Closet Reveal

You may know Taylor Brown, from The Styled Press, for her unique and approachable style, but let’s take a closer look at where it all comes together. Built to Last has made a custom closet designed specifically (and may I say perfectly!) for Taylor. Previously we built custom solutions at the Brown residence in their pantry and mudroom and wrote a blog post, and you can check out that new closet reveal here.

At Built to Last we go above and beyond to make the closet you know you needed but didn’t know how badly you wanted. Let’s take a peek at this custom closet design to die for:

1. What an entrance!

Leading into Taylor Brown’s custom closet space is a white wooden door, complete with a feminine glass doorknob on golden hardware. The room is spacious, with enough floor space to display the gorgeous herringbone white oak floor.

Some people think about their closet as storage space, but at Built to Last we know that the closet deserves as much love and attention as any other room. Done right, we think you’ll spend more time in your fresh space than you expect!

2. Organization Done Right

As both a busy mom and businesswoman, Taylor leads a life with high expectations and a fast pace. We thought she deserved some out-of-this-world organization to make the whole day go smoother.

Adjustable height open shelving, wire basket drawers, and gorgeous cabinetry are just a few examples. Hanging rods at various heights according to garment length is also a must. And let’s not forget velvet-lined accessory drawers for jewelry and sunglasses.

3. Custom lighting and mirrors

Do we even need to say mood lighting? The best custom closet design has to incorporate thoughtful lighting. Lighting needs to be functional (hello, where are those jeans!?) and display your favorite items with ambiance.

We lined Taylor’s closet with lighting strips to up the glow! And to top it off, we added a beautiful, custom, sky-high mirror. This mirror might be a work of art and certainly allows for a full-length view of Taylor’s whole look.

4. Display your shoes in style new closet reveal

Some women might have a lot of shoes, but influencer women are a whole ‘nother breed. We love Taylor’s shoes as much as you do and we had to find a creative way to display them.

For the stand-alone pairs, the open and illuminated shelving worked perfectly. For the rest of the beauties, we used clear containers to keep pairs together and keep them easy to locate.

5. It’s all in the details

As with any perfect look, the details make it. When we’re making a custom closet design, we don’t skimp on the small things either.

Finding the perfect gray for our gorgeous cabinetry is just one example. Perhaps you’ve noticed that we fit in a dresser top space that checks multiple boxes – ultra-feminine flowers?

Yes. Stunning purse display? Oh yeah. Mirror for putting on jewelry? Yep. And if you need more proof, take a look at the modern and classy light fixture subtly pulling the whole room together.

Excellence means a next-level organization and, honestly, a little bit of fun. Whether you want what Taylor has, or you want something tailored exactly to you, Built to Last will make your custom closet design with excellence.
