We are kicking off 2023; it’s the beginning of our 3rd year as Built to Last Custom Closets! We experienced significant growth and growing pains during this time and had many things to celebrate.
So, as we wrap up 2022 and bravely enter into this new year, we are continuously evaluating our goals and determining the direction of our business. Our primary goal is to grow our brand awareness in the Twin Cities and expand to the greater Minnesota area.
We will launch our blog, ramp up social media, build new partnerships, and develop our multifaceted portfolio!
I have spent my career in sales and territory management in the construction space. I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset and a relentless drive to provide fantastic customer experiences and bring creative innovations to the market.
My husband, Ryan, co-founder, has worked behind the scenes in custom closet manufacturing for his entire career. His work ethic and attention to detail are truly admirable.
On a crazy warm summer night, possibly after too much wine (which we chose to give up in 2021) and lots of brainstorming, we decided to make a leap of faith and pour our savings into a startup.
Initially, we planned to name the business “Off the Cuff Custom Wardrobes,” the sound of which I still enjoy. However, it felt wrong with our overall goal of thoughtful, well-designed systems.
That’s when Ryan had a new thought sitting beside me on the plane. Let’s name it Built to Last Custom Closets, and I loved it.
Built to Last is more than a title; it’s not just a product, even though it is a very badass product. It’s the culture that we have been creating, and that is what sets us apart.
While creating Built to Last, we are building a built-to-last team and community.
We offer a lifetime warranty, and we truly stand behind our work.
Ryan and I wanted to get to know our clients and ensure they knew we were here for the long haul.
We began as a design and install company, and in November of 2022, we grew to offer an in-house fabrication. We manufacture all our parts locally in Fridley, MN.
We have also built a cooperative manufacturing partnership with Twin Cities CNC. In March of 2023, we will officially become the first Minnesota Authorized Dealer of BauBox Cabinetry, and we are thrilled.
BauBox is a smart, beautifully designed box cabinet line made in Germany. Currently, the only existing showroom in the US is in San Francisco.
I was drawn to this brand because of its unwavering attention to detail, striving for innovation, and desire to make its product better. We can only imagine where this partnership is headed, but I assure you, it will be memorable.
